Heinz Law offers Supervised Legal Traineeships

SLT provides you with a formal twelve-month training program.

You work for our firm while getting to complete a rotation between the key areas of the firm, giving you broad exposure.

You will be assigned a mentor to assist, support, and guide you on your transition from student to Lawyer. The training during your traineeship is a combination of in-house with Heinz Law and course-based with Leo Cussens (10 days).

Eligibility:

  • You must be in your penultimate or final year of study (or completed your studies).

Attributes required:

  • Marks - you are doing a Law Degree you are clearly smart, all we care about is how you apply those skills, not if you got a HD, D or C.
  • Culture fit - while we are professional in our business, we are laid back in our culture - we are not clock watchers, and our Partners maintain an open-door policy.
  • Humility - let your work speak for itself. As a clerk, you must be prepared to start at the bottom.
  • A helpful team player - any graduate can do the job, so set yourself apart from the rest.
  • A desire to work and live regionally.

What's next after your SLT:

Should you impress us and there is a role available, you will be offered a permanent role with the firm.

When to apply:

  • We aren't constrained by dates or deadlines, we want the right people whenever we can find them.
  • Apply now!

Application process:

  1. Submit your resume and a cover letter using the below link.
  2. First round Interviews - online
  3. Second round Interviews - in person
